Understanding Shift Reviews
When a worker clocks out, FabWise inspects the completed shift before payroll. Clean shifts are auto-approved. Shifts that need a supervisor's attention are marked Needs Review.
Review Triggers
Late Arrival Or Early Departure
FabWise compares actual clock activity against the scheduled shift. Shifts can be flagged when the worker arrives late or leaves early.
Worked Past The Scheduled End
When a worker clocks out after the scheduled end and indicates they worked late, FabWise compares that extra time against the account's extra-time threshold.
Skipped Scheduled Meal Break
When a scheduled shift includes a meal break, FabWise assumes it was taken unless the worker selects I skipped my lunch break today at clock-out.
If the worker selects that option, the shift is flagged for supervisor review.
Unscheduled Shift
FabWise flags unscheduled shifts so a supervisor can confirm the shift before payroll.
Missing Clock-Out
If a shift is ended by the system because the worker did not clock out, FabWise flags the shift for supervisor review.
Task Coverage
FabWise shows how much of the shift is covered by job-task time so supervisors can review the shift record before payroll.
Auto-Approved Shifts
When a shift passes review, FabWise:
- Applies the account's rounding rules
- Sets the final payroll-ready times
- Calculates payroll-ready hours
- Marks the shift as approved
Reviewing Flagged Shifts
Flagged shifts appear on the dashboard, in payroll review, and on the shift detail page.
Supervisors can approve the captured shift as-is or adjust the final payroll-ready time when the captured record needs correction.
