CO-FOUNDER AND CEO

Nicholas Ulicney

Nicholas Ulicney is a mechanical engineer, entrepreneur, and hands-on shop owner with over 18 years of experience delivering high-specification projects and leading high-performing teams.

A University of Dayton graduate with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Nicholas began his career managing complex international projects involving thermal oxidizers, flares, pressure vessels, and combustion systems. As Senior Project Manager at Process Combustion Corporation and previously at John Zink Hamworthy Combustion, he successfully executed multi-million-dollar contracts across the United States, China, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, India, Canada, and Mexico.

He has worked with premier EPC firms including Bechtel, WorleyParsons, and Toyo, earning a reputation for exceptional cost control, quality delivery, and mentoring the next generation of engineers.

In March 2023, Nicholas purchased Kutz Fabricating, a CNC cutting and metal fabrication shop in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Returning to the shop floor reignited his passion for manufacturing and exposed the real-world inefficiencies many small fabricators face with outdated time tracking and labor management systems.

This experience led him to co-found FabWise, LLC - a purpose-built timeclock and job costing platform designed specifically for small manufacturers and blue-collar businesses.

Outside the shop, Nicholas is a proud father, licensed private pilot, and avid fisherman. He brings a rare combination of deep technical expertise, real-world fabrication experience, and entrepreneurial drive to every project and conversation.
